🚦 Ghost eShop Public NX — Weekly Access Limit Now Active

To ensure long-term stability and fairness, Ghost eShop Public NX now features a weekly 24-hour access limit per user. Learn why this change was made and how it works.

Ghost eShop Public NX introduces a new access model starting July 30, designed to balance free access with infrastructure sustainability.

❓ Why the Limit?

Running Ghost eShop Public NX at scale is not free — it generates over 6 Petabytes of traffic monthly (200TB/day), powered by the Ghost Land infrastructure: privately owned servers, premium Cloudflare caching, networking hardware, and energy costs.

Ghost eShop has always been free for all, thanks to support from Pro members, but recent growth has made limits necessary to ensure stability and fairness.

🧠 How It Works

Users now get 24 hours of full access per week. This ensures minimal disruption while drastically lowering continuous bandwidth use.

Example:

  • You open Tinfoil with Ghost eShop NX on Monday at 8:00 AM
  • You get 24 hours of full access (until Tuesday at 8:00 AM)
  • After that, you’ll wait 6 days (144 hours) before your next access window

When you connect via Tinfoil, a welcome message will display:

  • ⏱️ Time remaining in your current session
  • ⌛ Or how long until access is restored

🗓️ Rollout Timeline

  • July 23–30: Access error messages simulate the upcoming limit (load relief phase)
  • July 30: New system becomes fully active
